Introduction:
Positive Care Ireland provides residential, short break and community services for young people at risk (aged 12 - 18) - most of whom are looked after within the care system. These young people experience learning difficulties and/or challenging behavior.
Job Description:
We are now looking for Relief Social Care Workers
Reporting to: Unit Manager
Duties: The Social Care Worker will act as the support worker to young people referred to the house. He/she will contribute to an assessment of needs, thereafter implementing aspects of placement, behavioral support, and individual educational plans that will help meet assessed needs. He /she will undertake appropriate actions to connect the young person with local resources. He/she will network with local providers and liaise closely with parents / carers, and referral agencies. This post will involve evening, weekend and residential working arrangements.

Profile:
Person Spec: As social care worker you will possess a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Social care, Applied Social Studies, Youthwork, Nursing, Teaching or equivalent.
You will have a minimum of 6 months post-qualifying experience in working with young people (over 12 years) in a residential setting with challenging behavior.
You will also possess a full clean driving license.
